Bardhaman Mihidana is a centuries-old Bengali sweet, originally created in Bardhaman (Burdwan) for the Viceroy Lord Curzon in 1904. This fine-grained dessert is handcrafted by passing a saffron-and-rice flour batter through a vintage brass ladle into bubbling ghee—producing radiant tiny beads that are carefully soaked in aromatic sugar syrup.

Awarded a GI tag in 2017, Mihidana represents Bengal’s culinary finesse. It uses a blend of Kaminibhog, Gobindobhog & Basmati rice flour, gram flour, saffron, and pure ghee, then fried and soaked in lightly spiced syrup with bay leaf infusion . Each bite delivers a melt-in-the-mouth texture and elegant sweetness.

Prepared fresh in our Sundarini Naturals outlets across Kolkata by skilled artisans, our Mihidana is preservative-free, hand-made in limited batches, and perfect for gifting or celebrating tradition with purity. Delight in the taste of Bengal’s plush heritage—a bestseller among our Kolkata famous sweet offerings.
